You unlocked a drawing, I drew a comic
When I promised I'd draw Jay Lake kicking cancer's ass I didn't realize that my inner storyteller was going to demand not just a kick, but a beginning, a middle, and an end. And an all-star cast of characters. But that's what got demanded, and that's what I decided to deliver.
Here, then, is the final product. I think if you click on it you can have a bigger version.
Here is a photo album of the process.
James Crofts generously contributed his time and equipment so the whole process was videotaped as well. He'll be editing it into a nice time-lapse, so you can watch me work without you being bored or me being uncomfortable with you watching over my shoulder for three hours. I'll let you know when it's up, and how to get it.
I wrote "The End" on this comic. Please help Jay end this story happily in real life. We've covered the genome sequencing, but there are plenty of other related expenses.
