Back from Toronto, Leaving for Moab
I wish I had time to do a proper convention report, because Ad Astra 30 was wonderful. My only complaints are with the United States Customs Service who had me in line for so long Sunday afternoon that I missed my flight (and all possible subsequent Sunday flights,) which required me to stay an additional night in Toronto.
This may not seem like the end of the world. There was an upside -- the Mongolian barbecue had a chocolate fountain. I'm kind of a workaholic, though, and I had hoped to spend Monday recovering from the trip so I could spend Tuesday working, so I could spend the rest of the week vacationing with my family in Moab. Under the new schedule I spent Monday traveling, Tuesday (today) resting, and I get to spend my vacation stressing about the work I was supposed to get done.
Okay, it's not quite as bad as all that. I probably would have spent the vacation trying to get work done regardless of how much I accomplished on Tuesday, because that's just what I do. Vacations are for people who hate their jobs. (Or for people who love their jobs so much they stop paying enough attention to their families, but don't bring that up because I'm on a tear here.)
We're off to Moab tomorrow. I don't know what Sandra's got planned, but I'm bringing art supplies. Shhh....
p.s. do they have chocolate fountains in Moab?
