I'm only on two panels at Comic-Con, so you have limited opportunities to hear me mouth off with my cronies and peers. Here's my complete schedule: Friday, July 21 10:30-11:30 Blank Label Comics: The groundbreaking independent comics co-op offers a look at its unique recipe for success and explains why "webcomics" are dead. Moderated by the hosts of the popular Blank Label Comics podcast, Dave Kellett (Sheldon) and Kristofer Straub (Starslip Crisis), the panel will include David Willis (Shortpacked!), Paul Taylor (Wapsi Square), Howard Tayler (Schlock Mercenary), Steve Troop (Melonpool), and Brad Guigar (Evil Inc.). Room 1A
Saturday, July 22 6:00-7:00pm Webcomics 103: Making Money: Can you really make a living posting comics to the web? Bill Barnes (Unshelved) leads fellow webcomic businessfolk Robert Khoo (Penny Arcade), Howard Tayler (Schlock Mercenary), Phillip Karlsson (Dumbrella Hosting), and Jennie Breeden (The Devil's Panties) in a discussion on how they turn bits into bucks. Room 3
I can't yet tell you what my booth schedule will be like, but I'll be at booth 1332 at least a couple of hours each day, including Preview Night (Wednesday) and Sunday. If you stop by and I'm not there, I'm sure the guys who ARE there can tell you when I'll be back. I'm also opening up my "feed the cartoonist" offer again. Buy me a square meal and I'll whip out an inked commission for you. The trick here is that I don't know which mealtimes are open yet... you'll need to catch up with me at the booth. By the way, I've had a lot of takers on the " buy original strip-art" offer. It's not too late to reserve yours. You have until 5pm Monday to email me your request. I'm excited for Comic-Con to begin. I'm fairly dreading the drive down (six hours of which is spent crossing some of the worst desert terrain North America has to offer), but this is going to be a great week.
