Johannesburg, Here I Come
entry,

Sunday morning I fly to Johannesburg, South Africa via JFK in New York. I'm only marginally less stressed-out over this trip than I was a week ago. It's been a busy, busy time at work, and that time has left me only a very few cycles to review my presentations.

The good news is that I have all day Tuesday to prepare, sitting in my quiet room at the Michaelangelo hotel, tapping away at the keyboard and reading nice articles I should have read a month ago.

Novell employees reading this letter: LEAVE ME ALONE ON TUESDAY (unless you're helping me prep.) No phone-calls, no instant messages, no high-priority emails... I've got work to do.

Of the 10,000 or so readers of Schlock Mercenary, probably less than 100 of them are Novell people, and maybe 3 of those are people who pester me with any regularity. This means two things: 1) My previous plea is a huge waste of bandwidth, targeting the wrong group entirely, and 2) YOU THREE KNOW WHO YOU ARE. DON'T MAKE ME COME OVER THERE.

This week we wrap up the CSI parody here at Schlock Mercenary. It's been a lot of fun for me, and I hope it's been as much fun for you. On Monday the 31st of May we'll be back aboard the Athens and the Serial Peacemaker, well on our way to new adventures in new parts of the galaxy where there will be fascinating new life-forms to meet and, yes, kill.

The Live Journal thing has been going remarkably well. You'll probably see more updates from me there than you will here in the entry, because it's so much easier to update. Granted, it reaches fewer of you, but those of you who really want to read the drivel I spout will know exactly where to go get it, and can get your fill.

Buffer=21. It'll drop to 13 before it grows again.
