Chicken-Fried Updateentry,
The Matrix: Revolutions opens today, and I'm gonna see it. I expect that it will simultaneously delight me and let me down, but that's okay. It's escapist entertainment, and after my return from Vegas I could really use an escape.
The return wasn't too bad, actually. We stopped at The Thunderbirds Cafe in Mesquite, NV for food around noon or so, and I ate what I believe to be the best chicken-fried steak this side of the eventual heat-death of the universe. (I shared that superlative with the waitress. She shrugged and said "Yeah, the food here is good.") The rest of the trip was uneventful. Chalain drove my beetle while I played a game on his Sony handheld.
It was the return to my daily grind that, well, grinded me. (ground? grounded? what?) I came home Tuesday afternoon in a mood that would have had me kicking the dog, but we don't own a dog. Fortunately, there were four children upon whom I could be grumpy, which spreads out the engrumpification so there was no kicking involved. I simply sent them all to bed without supper.
(not)
Hey, question for you: if I redesigned the schlockmercenary.com website, what would you like to see me change?
I've been giving this a lot of thought. I believe I've got all the relevant content here on the front page, but I bet there's a list a mile long of things you don't like about the way it's laid out, or the way it's served up. Send me your requests!
In a final, happy note, schlockmercenary.com was independently rated as the 21st-most-popular webcomic. Have a look here for the full list. This is our first appearance on the list, and it coincides with our increased popularity according to Alexa. Certainly this is no accident. Those of you participating in the Schlock Alexa Project can count this as YOUR triumph. Yay!
