I just finished looking at the digital proofs for Schlock Mercenary: Resident Mad Scientist, and they look awesome. These are the proofs that came from the printer in Hong Kong, and which tell us pretty much exactly what the pages are going to look like. Did I say awesome? They are going to look like somebody built a printing press out of solid awesome, filled its ink drums with liquid awesome, and then printed the entire book on pulped, pressed, and gloss-finished awesome that came from trees that were so awesome they only agreed to be slain for an awesome project... but then the chainsaws had to be fueled with awesomol before they could even get through the bark. Note: This blog post is a good example of why I don't bother letting other people write my ad copy for me: insufficiently awesome.
