Prepping for Another Tripentry,
Sorry for the dearth of entry Updates lately. Usually this means I have so many things going on that I get to tell you about exactly none of them. Like the fact that I met Big Daddy of Big Daddy's CD Exchange, discovered a super-cool hobby shop, and bought what I believe to be the closest commercial approach yet to the Perfect Burger -- all on Labor Day.
What I should have been doing on Labor Day is drawing, but I was out of scripts. So I ran around town and let ideas percolate, then came home and scripted. This means that I need to crank three rows a day on Tuesday (yesterday), Wednesday, and Thursday of this week so that I can fly to Barcelona and come back with 14 days in the buffer.
Oh, yeah. I'm going to Barcelona again for Novell BrainShare Europe. If you're a Schlock fan and you live in Barcelona, I have absolutely NO idea how you and I could meet up (unless you're also a big Novell fan, and happen to have the $1500 to drop on a technical conference -- an unlikely coincidence [but it has happened before.]) Novell is putting me up in the Rey Juan Carlos, and I'll be cruising the Ramblas with co-workers the weekned of September 6th. I also want to hit a couple of retailers who sell New Rock boots and shoes. The pair I bought in Africa have literally rocked my socks, and the lone retailer who carries them here in Utah carries such a pathetic selection I am forced to weep.
So here I am crying over the fact that I have to fly to Barcelona to find shoes I like, and bemoaning the fact that I have to work extra hard to prepare for the trip, while saying little about how grateful I should be for the chance to get out and see the world. This is in part because I've traveled so much that I despise it, and in part because I'm an ungrateful schmoe-twit (it's a sort of hybrid... kind of common where I grew up.)
And on that note, back to the drawing board (rimshot.)
