Interview Over at SF Signal
A week ago Thursday the functional nerds over at the SFSignal Podcast interviewed me. Have a listen! It's about 50 minutes long -- much windier than my weekly attempts at pithy, sound-bitey-ness on the Writing Excuses podcast -- and I talk about all kinds of things, including how I write the strip, how I stay ahead, how Bill Amend influenced me back in the very beginning, and why I believe Webcomics do better with the Free Content Business Model than most other creative endeavors. I also touch on the Schlock Mercenary Board Game (which just hit its first over-funding goal! You guys rock!), the history of Writing Excuses, and why I love the World Science Fiction Convention more than I love Comic-Con International.
Speaking of Writing Excuses, if you're participating in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month, for those of you not up on writer jargon) we've posted a couple of quick pep-talks over there, the first was from Brandon Sanderson, and this week's is from Mary Robinette Kowal, who gives all of you permission to write badly, at least for a little while. These casts are quite short -- less than five minutes each -- and if you're trying to write a novel this month (or, you know, EVER) then they may be just what you need.
