Commentary: Today's installment is the six thousand, five hundred and seventy-fourth installment of Schlock Mercenary. The first such installment was eighteen years ago. 

When I remember these things far enough in advance I work some sort of numerological easter-egg into the dialog, but I forgot to do that, and had to settle for working it into the art. 

Note: The word "Commentary" at the beginning of a footnote means you're reading a note from Howard. The word "Note" means you're reading a note from the Narrator. This distinction may seem academic, but Howard knows things that the Narrator does not. Writer brains are weird things.
