Book 10: The Longshoreman of the Apocalypse — Part II: Enter the Longshoreman

Transcript

Narrator: Aboard the mercenary warship Touch-And-Go, currently in a stationkeeping (and rubbernecking) orbit around the Credomar habitat.
Ennesby: No biosphere breach. The outgassing was from bulkhead passages, now sealed.
Massey: Casualties?
Ennesby: Somewhere between zero and three hundred, depending on who's doing the counting. Call it "undetermined" for now.
Massey: It's time to wake the Captain.
Ennesby: No, it's not. What's he going to do that you can't?
Massey: I don't know. Couldn't we be deploying troops to help them with repairs?
Ennesby: It's Infracrat territory. They're broadcasting "stay out of our way" right now.
Massey: So we just do nothing, and let the Captain sleep through all this?
Ennesby: Right now there's nothing to do.
Massey: Except worry.
Ennesby: And you're good at that. Get busy.
